Overlapping Geese No. 3
Overlapping Geese is a multifaceted modern traditionalist design, a new interpretation of the flying geese block that is also a variation of traditional chevron and herringbone designs, where the ends of what would have been parallelograms or rectangles respectively have been cut at different angles for a much different effect.
Overlapping Geese No. 3 moves away from the vertical orientation of the first two quilts in the series, opting for a 45-degree orientation, and doubles the scale. The larger scale and use of only solid fabrics delineates the geese more, giving them a bold, geometric look for a more modern design.
